چکیده

We develop a theory of modulus sheaves with transfers, which generalizes Voevodsky's transfers. This paper and its sequel are foundational for the motives modulus, is developed in [KMSY20].

Modulus Stabilization with Bulk Fields

We propose a mechanism for stabilizing the size of the extra dimension in the Randall-Sundrum scenario. The potential for the modulus field that sets the size of the fifth dimension is generated by a bulk scalar with quartic interactions localized on the two 3-branes. The minimum of this potential yields a compactification scale that solves the hierarchy problem without fine tuning of parameter...

MODULUS HYPERINVARIANT CLOSED IDEALS FOR QUASINILPOTENT OPERATORS WITH MODULUS ON lp-SPACES

In this paper, it is proved that every non-zero continuous operator with modulus on an lp-space whose modulus is quasinilpotent at a non-zero positive vector has a non-trivial modulus hyperinvariant closed ideal. AMS Subject Classification: 47A15

Modulus stabilization via non-minimal coupling

We propose a massless nonminimally coupled scalar field as a mechanism for stabilizing the size of the extradimension in the Randall-Sundrum I scenario. Without needing to introduce self interactions terms we obtain a potential for the modulus field that sets the size of the fifth dimension. The minumum of this potential yields appropriate values of the compactification scale for small values o...

The hidden number problem with non-prime modulus

Abstract We consider a generalization of the Hidden Number Problem for general moduli N , and prove that it can be solved with high probability if roughly 2(logN) aproximations of quality at least (logN) are given, and the multipliers are chosen uniformly at random from ZZ/NZZ. We prove a similar result in the case that the multipliers are chosen uniformly at random from (ZZ/NZZ) and N is the p...

A covering system with least modulus 25

A collection of congruences with distinct moduli, each greater than 1, such that each integer satisfies at least one of the congruences, is said to be a covering system. A famous conjecture of Erdös from 1950 states that the least modulus of a covering system can be arbitrarily large. This conjecture remains open and, in its full strength, appears at present to be unattackable. Most of the effo...
